New Jersey is at a crossroads. No state is as rich in its tradition of innovation and invention, as culturally diverse, or as fortunate in its location in the midst of the Northeast Corridor. New Jersey also has the highest combined tax burdens and costs of living in the country, the greatest number of governmental entities, and significant projected state budget shortfalls in the coming years.
The Council on State Public Affairs was created to help New Jersey meet the complex public policy challenges that face our state. The Council brings discussion on New Jersey public policy to the forefront in the State, and promotes private thought and public discussion on policy agendas to improve the quality of life for New Jersey's citizens.
